Media centre for the Reykjanes earthquakes
On Friday, a centre was opened for media personnel covering the earthquakes in and around Grindavík. This is in response to the significant interest from international media in covering the events, to provide them with a workspace and ensure a good flow of information. The centre is located at Hringhellu in Hafnarfjörður and will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day.

The centre is primarily intended for foreign media professionals, but domestic media professionals are also welcome. The Tourist Board, in cooperation with Íslandsstofa, SafeTravel and the Civil Protection Authority, will be responsible for the operation and management of the centre. The centre is located at Hringhellu 9A, 2nd floor, 221 Hafnarfjörður, and will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day. The centre will provide working facilities for media professionals and staff from the Icelandic Tourist Board and Visit Iceland will be on hand to provide information. It is planned that experts or government representatives will be present at the centre for about an hour each day to answer questions.
