  The town council unanimously approves the proposal.

• 0706352 – Restoration of birdlife, no stray cats.

  A submission from Guðrún Kristín Magnúsdóttir, reg. no. 270939-2959, regarding the restoration of birdlife and stray cats.

  The Town Council agrees to refer the matter for comment to the Environmental Health and Environment Committee.

• 0706328 – Question submitted to the Town Council on 21 June 2007 - aluminium smelter elections.

  A response letter from the Information and Public Relations Officer regarding the cost of conducting the aluminium smelter election was presented.

• 0706313 – Hraunvangur 7, Hrafnista, Hafnarfjörður, lease of land

  A letter from Sveinn H. Skúlason, Director of Hrafnista, dated 15 June, was presented, in which the City of Hafnarfjörður is asked to waive the plot rental fees for Hrafnista in Hafnarfjörður.

  The town council agrees to refer the matter to the town solicitor for review.

• 0705197 – BSH Vehicle Station, right to taxi ranks.

  A proposal was put forward to authorise BSH to use a taxi rank at the Fjørð shopping centre exclusively for 3 months. During this period, a long-term solution will be found in the town centre for a general taxi rank to be used by all taxi firms.

  The Town Council instructs the Town Solicitor to present the proposed plan to the relevant parties. The matter is also referred to the Planning and Building Department for further consideration.

• 0702100 – Heat Supply of the South West - pre-emption right on shares.

  The town solicitor and Gunnar Svavarsson, a town councillor and the representative of the Borough of Hafnarfjörður on the board of HS, attended the meeting.

  The Town Council agrees to refer the matter for further consideration at an extra meeting of the Town Council after the weekend.

• 0703029 – Land lease agreement for Hlaðbæ-Colas in Kapelluhrauni.

  Lagt fram að nýju erindi frá Landslögum-lögfræðistofu fyrir hönd Hlaðbæjar-Colas þar sem óskað er eftir frekari yfirferð á drögum að lóðaleigusamningi fyrir fyrirtækið sem bæjarráð samþykkti fyrir sitt leyti þ. 8.febrúar sl.%0D%0DLagt fram minnisblað frá Lilju Ólafsdóttir, fulltrúa fasteignaskráningar, með staðfestingu á útreikningi á lóðarleigugjöldum og varðandi almennra leigutíma.

  The Town Council sees no reason to amend the draft lease agreement, in reference to the submitted memorandum.

• SB070031 – Glitvellir 13

  A letter was submitted from the landowner of Glitvöllar 13, Axel Heiðar Guðmundsson, VAT no. 010769-3619, requesting permission to transfer the property.

  The Town Council rejects the request, with reference to the rules in the lease agreement.

  A proposal, referred to the town council from the town board on 26th June, was presented regarding the Straumsvík aluminium smelter.

• 0706404 – Presidential Commission.

  The Town Council instructs the Chairmen of the Town Council to review the rules on the conduct of Town Council meetings.

• 0705293 – Students' Union, operating grants for children in nurseries

  A proposal for operating grants for children in nurseries not run by the City of Hafnarfjörður was put forward, but the Education Committee referred the proposal to the Town Council at its meeting on 25 June.

  The town council approves the proposal for its part.

• 0706349 – Harbour tariff 2007.

  The town council agrees to postpone the matter until the next meeting at the request of the representative of the Independence Party.

Applications

• 0706367 – Fjarðargarðar ehf, application for a plot in the Selhraun or Hellnahraun area

  A plot application was submitted by Fjarðagarðar ehf., registration no. 450106-0700, for a plot for commercial premises in the Selhraun or Hellnahraun area.

  The Town Council agrees to refer the application for comment to the Planning and Building Department.

• 0706178 – Stables, type B, at Kaplaskeið, plot application

  A site application from Elín Guðmundur Magnúsdóttir for a stable block plot at Kaplaskeið was submitted.

  The town council rejects the application as the application period for plots in the area has closed.

• 0706006 – Plot 7, application for 3 distribution stations for H.S.hf

  Application submitted by Hitaveita Suðurnesja, registration no. 680475-0169, for 3 plots for distribution stations at Völlum 7.

  The town council agrees to refer the matter to the planning and building department for comment.
