• 0902277 – Sörli, Hlíðarþúfur, increase in service charges

  A letter from Sorli dated 20 February regarding the imposition of service charges was presented.

  The Town Council instructs the Finance Manager to respond to the matter.;

• 0902167 – The Independence Party, proposal from the town council representative, 12 February 2009

  To be taken up again.

  The Town Council agrees that a special working group, appointed by the Council on 9 October to consult on the economic situation due to the special circumstances prevailing in the community at the time, has formally concluded its work. Matters specifically concerning the discussion and presentation of the implementation and review of the budget, and individual projects in employment matters, will, as has been the practice, be taken for discussion and decision by the town council.;

  The Town Council refers the following proposal to the Town Board: “The Town Board of Hafnarfjörður approves the pending offer to purchase at Hringhellu 9, in accordance with the documents on file.“;

• 0903069 – Law enforcement in the capital region and changes to the organisation

  A proposal from the Chief Constable of the Capital Region, dated 4th March, regarding the strengthening of policing in Hafnarfjörður and changes to the organisational structure was presented.

  Submitted for information. The Town Council is pleased that the comments and observations it made when the current arrangement was introduced have been taken into account.;

• 0903061 – Water and geothermal rights, assessment

  A submission from the Ministry of the Prime Minister, dated 2 March, regarding a review of state-owned water and geothermal rights.

  The Town Council instructs the Town Solicitor to respond to the matter.;

• 0902343 – Sorpa bs, annual report 2008

  The annual accounts of Sorpa bs for the year 2008 were presented.

  The Town Council instructs the Mayor to continue working on the matter in accordance with the discussions at the meeting.;

• 0811061 – Employment and Development Centre

• 0903086 – Writings 2008

  Depreciation schedules for the year 2008 were submitted: one for property and the other for general assets.

  The Town Council approves the proposed list.;

• 0903119 – Stefán Jónsson, painting

  A proposal from Jón Gunnar Stefánsson, dated 5 March 2009, is presented, in which he requests that a painting of Stefán Jónsson be placed in the care of the municipality. Stefán served on the Hafnarfjörður town council for 44 years, and on 15 March next, it will be 100 years since his birth.

  The Town Council thanks Stefán's family for their thoughtfulness and will accept the gift at a special ceremony in due course.;

• 0801264 – Uppsala, Friendship City Festival 21-24 May 2009

  The new mission of the Nordic Society in Hafnarfjörður is being taken up again.

  The Town Council, by a 4-0 vote, approves a grant of 200,000 króna, to be taken from the budget for twinning. Rósa Guðbjartsdóttir abstains from the vote on the matter and submits the following statement:

  If the municipal authorities consider that the importance of Nordic cooperation and participation in the twinning event in question is such that it is necessary to continue the funding this year, despite economic difficulties and a reduction in income, I cannot oppose it, but I will abstain from the vote. Written information is also requested on the total cost to the municipality of participating in the twinning event.;

• 0901131 – Plot sales 2009

  A submission from Merl ehf, sent by email on 6 March, requesting the return of the plot Móhella 1.

  The Town Council requests a report from the Department of Planning and Building.;

  Lögð fram fundargerð stjórnar Strætó bs frá 27. febrúar sl.%0DFulltrúi bæjarins í stjórn Strætó bs gerði grein umræðum um fjármál Strætó. Jafnframt kom fram að fulltrúi frá Strætó mun mæta á næsta fund bæjarráðs.
