    • 0901030 – Sorpa bs, minutes 2009

      The minutes of the board meeting of Sorpa bs., meeting no. 262, from 25 May were presented.

    • 0901033 – Health Committee of the Hafnarfjörður and Kópavogur area, minutes 2009

      The minutes of the 139th meeting of the Health Committee of the Hafnarfjörður and Kópavogur area, held on 25 May, were presented.

    General presentations

    • 0906015 – Electronic voting, pilot project

      A letter dated 28th May from the Ministry of Transport was presented, concerning a pilot project for electronic voting in two local authorities during the May 2010 local elections.

      The town council agrees to request that the Ministry allow the Borough of Hafnarfjörður to participate in the pilot project.;

    • 0906059 – Stopping offence, a coordinated arrangement in the capital region.

      A letter dated 5 June from the Executive Director of the Association of Local Authorities in the Capital Region was presented, proposing that the Capital Region Police be tasked with handling the processing of stop offences in accordance with the provisions of section 108 of the Road Traffic Act.

      The Town Council approves the application for its part.;

    • 0906060 – Cat ownership, review and revision of the by-law on cat ownership in Hafnarfjörður.

      The Town Council requests a review of the by-law on keeping cats in Hafnarfjörður and refers the matter to the administrative and financial department for review.;

    • 0810052 – Nýsir Ltd, private project contracts

      Gerður Guðjónsdóttir, Finance Director, attended the meeting and reported on the status of the contracts.

      The Finance Director and the Office Manager of the Planning and Building Department have been tasked with continuing to work on the matter.;

    • 0906061 – Budget 2009, revision.

      Gerður Guðjónsdóttir, the Finance Manager, attended the meeting. The situation was reviewed. Proposals were put forward for a revision of the budget and for increased funding for social services, youth summer jobs, travel services for disabled people, housing benefit, etc.

      The Town Council agrees to call an extraordinary meeting for the review of the budget.;

    • 0906062 – Hlíðarendi v/Kaldárselsveg, lease agreement

      A letter was presented, dated 14th May, from the owners of the stables in Hlíðarendi on Kaldárselsveg, regarding lease agreements and the tidying of the plots.

      The Town Council agrees to refer the matter to the Planning and Building Department for comment.;

    • 0801344 – Town Centre, development plan

      The Town Centre Committee's proposal for the town centre development plan was presented, but it was referred from the committee at its meeting on 9 June for consideration by the Town Council. Anna Sigurborg Ólafsdóttir, Service and Development Manager, attended the meeting.

      The Town Council agrees to refer the individual elements of the proposal concerning the relevant councils and committees to the Cultural and Tourism Committee, the Harbour Board, the Executive Committee and the Planning and Building Committee for their consideration.;

    • 0709109 – South Coast Heat, shareholding of the City of Hafnarfjörður

      The appeal notice of Orkuveita Reykjavíkur was submitted.

      The Town Council affirms the decision of the Reykjavík District Court and instructs its solicitor in the case, Stefán Geir Þórisson QC, to conduct the defence of the case in the Supreme Court on behalf of the town.;

    • 0906071 – The ski areas, settlement and annual report 2008

      The board of the ski areas presented a 5-month operating statement along with the 2008 annual accounts.

      The meeting was attended by Gerður Guðjónsdóttir, Finance Director, and Bjarni Guðmundsson, Actuary. The municipality's pension liabilities for the Hafnarfjörður Pension Fund were reviewed.

    Grants

    • 0906042 – Sports Department of the Icelandic Kennel Club, grant application

      A grant application from the sports department of the Icelandic Kennel Club, dated 1 June 2009, for the organisation of a show.

      The town council rejects the request.;
