General presentations

• 1012133 – Water quality of water pools in Kaldárbotnar

  The Waterworks Manager, Dagur Jónsson, attended the meeting and presented the matter.

• 11023213 – Hellisgerði Elf Garden, a centre for elves and fairies, collaboration

  Dealing with the partnership agreement is being taken up again.

  The Town Council confirms the attached cooperation agreement.;

• 1104262 – Local Government Act, Bill 726 for consultation

  Taken up again. A joint report from the finance directors of the SSH member municipalities was presented for information. Also, a report from the mayor regarding referendums.

• 11021352 – Annual Report 2010, variance analysis

  The Finance Director attended the meeting and presented the variance analysis for the annual accounts.

  Presented for information.;

• 1009045 – Supervisory Board for Local Authority Finances.

  Councillors from the Independence Party requested that the data showing the council's communications with the supervisory board since the turn of the year be presented, i.e. letters, emails or minutes of meetings regarding the communications. The Finance Manager attended the meeting and reported on communications with the supervisory board.

  The City of Hafnarfjörður has made every effort to keep the Municipal Financial Supervisory Committee regularly informed about the city's finances, the progress of the budget, and the work on refinancing. The information has been provided primarily by telephone and email between the Finance Director and a member of the Commission's staff. One formal communication has been received, dated 9th February. It was presented to the Town Council on 17th February.;

• 1105401 – Shipalón 27, condition of neighbouring building plots

  A petition from the residents' association of Skipalón 27, dated 16 May 2011, was presented regarding the landscaping of the surrounding plots and area. Also, a submission from Jón Sigurgeirsson on behalf of the residents of Skipalón 22–26 concerning the same matter.The Director of the Planning and Building Department attended the meeting and reviewed the matter. It was reported that the relevant plot holder had been given a four-week extension to finalise the plot.

  The Town Council agrees that the condition of the plot is unacceptable and instructs the Head of the Planning and Building Department to follow up on the matter.;

• 1105361 – Music studies, agreement

  An agreement was presented between the Association of Icelandic Municipalities and the Ministry of Education and Culture, on behalf of the State Treasury, concerning the promotion of music education and the equalisation of opportunities for music education.

• 1104346 – 55 Hjallabraut, amendment to the local plan

  A request from Hjallastefnunar ehf, dated 25 May 2011, for the expansion of the plot at 55 Hjallabraut for the school's operations was presented. The Director of the Planning and Building Department presented the matter.

  The Town Council welcomes the proposal and refers it to the Planning and Building Committee for consideration.;

• 1006305 – Cleaning services for the City of Hafnarfjörður

  The Director of the Education Department attended the meeting, reviewed the matter concerning cleaning in schools and presented a related memorandum.

  With reference to the budget and the submitted memo from the Director of Education, the Town Council resolves to instruct the Executive Department and the Purchasing Manager to tender for cleaning services at Öldutúnsskóli, Setbergsskóli and the Víðistaðaskóli site in Engidal.;

Applications

• 1105280 – Miðvangur 116 and 118, planning permission and plot enlargement

  The outcome of the processing meeting of the Planning and Building Officer on 20 May is presented, in which the part of the matter concerning the plot extension is referred to the Town Council.

  The Town Council proposes to the Municipal Council:“The Hafnarfjörður Town Council approves the authorisation of an extension to the plot at Miðvangur 116 of 256m² and to the plot at Miðvangur 118 of 114m², and instructs the Property Register to finalise the matter.“;

Grants

• 11023019 – Leave Committee for Housewives in Hafnarfjörður, grant application 2011

  A repeated request from the Housing Leave Committee dated 12 May 2011 regarding the payment of a contribution was presented.

  The Town Council refers to its previous decision.;

• 1105402 – The Kiwanis Key

  A proposal from the Kiwanis movement, sent by email on 13 May 2011, requesting support for the „Key to Life“ project.

  The Town Council instructs the Mayor to finalise the matter.;

• 1105409 – Tourism, grant application

  A proposal from Íris Alma Vilbergsdóttir, dated 18 May 2011, has been submitted, requesting a grant for the establishment of a company.

  The Town Council instructs the Town Clerk to speak with the letter writer.;

• 1105428 – Olympic Games in Chemistry, grant application

  A proposal from Árni Björn Höskuldsson, sent by email on 23 May 2011, is presented, requesting a grant for participation in the Chemistry Olympiad this summer.

  The Town Council refers the matter to the Head of the Work School for processing.;
