• 0906034 – School Council of Öldutúnsskóli

  A letter from the school council of Öldutúnsskóli was presented, calling on the education board to ensure that the necessary funding is secured for refurbishment of the school's premises and to begin the construction of a sports hall.

  “It is correct, as stated in the letter from the Öldutúnsskóli school board, that over the past few terms work has been carried out on refurbishments and an assessment of the maintenance needs and renewal of the Öldutúnsskóli school premises. In addition, a local plan amendment has been prepared for the area, which provides for a sports hall at the school. The next steps are the final design of the new sports hall and alterations to the school buildings, followed by works on the site. This project is high on the priority list for the framework plan of major upcoming school building projects. The Education Committee considers it as important as ever that the changes are carried out and the sports hall is built as soon as possible.“;

• 0906033 – Víðistaðaskóli School Council

  A letter from the Víðistaðaskóli school board regarding operational adjustments at the school has been submitted. The municipal authorities are urged to accede to the headteacher's request for an increase in teaching time allocation.

  The allocation of teaching hours is under review by the education department and is linked to the revision of the town's 2009 budget.;

  The requested report from the headteacher of Ásland School and the director of the education department on the need for additional teaching space at the school has been submitted. The report has been sent to the executive board.

  The Education Committee endorses the submitted report and the proposal for the procedure to be adopted.;
