    • 0909274 – Education Department, research - presentation

      Einar Ingi Magnússon, a psychologist, attended the meeting and presented his master's thesis, „The relationship between lifelong learning, competence and performance management in the administration of Hafnarfjörður“.

    • 0801395 – Education Policy of Hafnarfjörður

      The final version of the Hafnarfjörður school policy has been submitted. The school policy will be presented at Víðistaðaskóli on Monday, 26th October at 17:15.

      The Chair presented the revised education strategy for Hafnarfjörður, which was approved by the town council on 30 June 2009.  The revision of the school policy was carried out by a steering group composed of representatives from the education committee and staff from the education department. Representatives of parents of children in the town's nursery and primary schools, staff of the relevant institutions, and managers have reviewed the school policy and have had the opportunity to present their views. The Chairperson thanks the parties involved for their excellent work and cooperation in the review of the school policy.;

    • All general user software in the Icelandic school system, from nurseries to universities, will be in Icelandic within three years.

      A letter from the Minister of Education and Culture was presented, stating that an Icelandic Language Policy was approved by the Althingi last spring and that the Ministry of Education and Culture has been tasked with implementing the proposed measures. The language policy is available on the ministry's website, and everyone is encouraged to familiarise themselves with the policy in its entirety.

    • 09102930 – Municipal Education Conference 2009

      The 2009 Municipalities„ Education Conference, “Education at a Crossroads", will be held on Monday, 2nd November at the Hilton Reykjavik Nordica.

      Observers for the primary school left the meeting at 9:10.;

    • 09102864 – Álfasteinn - planning day

      Lagt fram bréf frá leikskólastjórum Álfasteins þar sem óskað er eftir þremur samliggjandi skipulagsdögum vorið 2010 vegna náms- og kynnisferðar starfsfólks. Jafnframt er lagt fram samþykki foreldraráðs leikskólans. %0DÁ haustönn 2008 kom inn sambærilegt erindi vegna vorsins 2009. Þá óskaði fræðsluráð eftir faglegri umsögn fræðslusviðs sem lögð var fram á fundi ráðsins 6. október það ár. Vegna efnahagsástandsins var ferðinni frestað.%0DAð þessu sinni fara leikskólastjórarnir fram á að fá að taka samliggjandi starfsdaga dagana: 25., 26. og 27. maí 2010.%0D

      The Education Council approves the application.;

    • 09102869 – Stekkjarás - planning day

      A letter has been submitted from the head teacher of Stekkjaráss Nursery School, requesting a change of the planning day due to a planned study and familiarisation trip to Sweden in the spring of 2010. A request is made to hold the planning day on 23 April instead of 25 May. The approval of the nursery's parents' council is also submitted.

    • 0909013 – Nursery schools, school curricula

      Lilja Kolbrún Steindórsdóttir, Head Teacher of the nursery school, Ragnhildur Birna Hauksdóttir, Assistant Head Teacher at Álfabergi, and María Kristjánsdóttir, Head Teacher of the nursery school at Hörðuvöllum, present the schools' curricula.
