A report on leisure centres 2008-2010 was presented. This concerns the running of courses at the primary schools' after-school clubs, which ÍTH has overseen since 2006. Representatives of ÍTH, Sigurgeir Árni Ægisson and Ellert Magnússon, attended the meeting and presented the report.

1003226 – Prevention, families and local authorities
The Prevention Day was held for the fourth time on Wednesday, 30 September 2009, at the initiative of the President of Iceland in cooperation with the Association of Icelandic Local Authorities, the Icelandic Olympic and Sports Association, the Icelandic Youth League, the Association of Icelandic Scouts, the City of Reykjavík, the University of Reykjavík and the University of Iceland, as well as the pharmaceutical company Actavis, which is a special supporter of the project. A report with the main findings was presented.
The Education Council encourages schools to use the findings of the report in their preventative work.;

a) Ingibjörg Einarsdóttir reported on the final event of the Great Reading Competition and invited the councillors to the final, which will be held on 23rd March in Hafnarfjörður.
Thanks were given to Ingibjörg and the chairman encourages everyone who is able to attend.b) The Hafnarfjörður Children's Choir Festival will be held in Víðistaðakirkja on 20th March.c) The musical 'The Treasure', by Ólafur B. Ólafsson, featuring pupils from the third year of primary school, will be premiered at Víðistaðaskóli on Monday, 22nd March.
