“The Education Committee endorses the steering group's proposals and agrees, for its part, that a group be established in accordance with item 7 of the steering group's recommendations on youth distress and suicide from 1 December. nd mandates that the Director of the Education Department appoint a representative from the education department to the group. The working group shall report regularly on its work to the Education and Family Councils.“;

A memorandum from Ólafur Helgi Árnason regarding the temporary planning permission for the school building was presented.
The following proposal is put forward to the town council: „The Town Council of Hafnarfjörður approves, with reference to the decision of the Education Committee at its meeting on 13 December, that the premises currently housing the Hjallastefnunnar Primary School on Hjallabraut will be relocated to the site of the Hraunvelli nursery school and used as a branch of the Hraunvelli nursery school from the next school year, i.e. from 1 August 2011. The Directorate of Operations is to be tasked with giving notice to vacate the premises on a reasonable timescale, applying for planning permission for a new site, and preparing for the relocation of the buildings along with other related works.“
The proposal was approved with three votes in favour; the representatives of the Independence Party abstained, referring to their minutes from the last meeting of the education committee.The observers regarding the nursery school left the meeting at 10:40.
