A letter from the headteacher of Flensburg School has been submitted, requesting a collaboration on the „Health-Promoting Secondary School“ project with the town's nursery and primary schools for a day that everyone can come together for.
The Education Committee welcomes the proposal and instructs the Education Department, in collaboration with school management, to take the matter forward.

11023021 – Youth centres and all-day school
At the town council meeting on 7th July, the following was approved:$line$“The Hafnarfjörður Town Council agrees to merge the operation of all-day schools and youth centres into a single unit in each school, under the management of the Office of Youth Affairs and Family Services. The importance of simultaneously working on professional strategic planning for leisure activities, as stated in the review from the Faculty of Education, University of Iceland, is acknowledged.$line$B The Town Council thanks all those who submitted comments on the report of the working group on the organisation of full-day schools in Hafnarfjörður and emphasises that they will be taken into consideration in the ongoing work regarding the merger of youth centres and full-day schools.schools and the transfer of the all-day school from the education department to the youth affairs office.$line$B The Town Council instructs the Director of Administration to implement the merger, emphasising the importance of the implementation being carried out in close cooperation and with the agreement of staff, parents and pupils.“$line$
The parent representative for primary school children wishes to state that there are concerns within the school environment regarding these changes, and wants to emphasise that work should be carried out in cooperation and harmony with the staff.The Education Committee directs the education department, school principals and staff in the town's primary schools to ensure the implementation of this change is as successful as possible.
