    • 1104364 – Nursery school calendars 2011-2012

      A request has been submitted from the head teacher of Álfasteinn nursery, requesting a change of the planning day from 17 November to 21 October 2011.

      The Education Committee approves the application, as the approval of the school's parents' council is available.

    • 0809210 – Nursery school places, needs assessment

      A summary from the nursery development officer regarding the need for nursery places for the next school year – 2012-2013, was presented.

    • European Democracy Week 10-16 October 2011

      A summary from the nursery development officer was presented on how the democratic week will be conducted in the town's nurseries.

    • 1008206 – Hjalli School

      A letter from the Ministry of Education and Culture, dated 19 September 2011, regarding the administration of standardised tests was presented.

    • 1109321 – Setbergs School, Autumn 2011 review

      A letter from the Minister of Education, dated 21 September 2011, was presented, announcing the Ministry's decision to conduct an inspection of Setbergs School in the autumn of 2011.

    • School grounds, safety issues

      Representatives from the Department of Environment and Operations are present for this item.

      The Education Committee thanks Sigurður Haraldsson, Director of the Hafnarfjörður Property Company, Ismael R. David, Technical Engineer at the Department of Environment and Operations, Björn B. Hilmarsson, Head of Horticulture, and Svanlaug Sveinsson, Maintenance Project Manager, who reviewed the safety of school grounds.

      The prevention officer of Hafnarfjörður and the chief psychologist at the School Office attend the meeting and review the situation.$line$The prevention officer presents the results of a study on substance use among students in 8th, 9th and 10th grades in Hafnarfjörður in 2011. The study was conducted by Rannsókn og greining.

    • 1109377 – The Little Reading Competition

      A report was presented on the Small Reading Competition for Year 4 pupils in the schools of Hafnarfjörður during the 2010-2011 academic year. Ingibjörg Einarsdóttir, Director of the Hafnarfjörður School Office, attended the meeting and presented the report.
