Geir thanked for his presentation of the survey results. The Education Committee requests information on whether more detailed information about the well-being and behaviour of students in Hafnarfjörður can be obtained from elsewhere.

    • 1208099 – Ásland School, leisure centre (youth centre/after-school club)

A letter dated 15 June from the headteacher of Ásland School was presented, in which he requests that an experiment be conducted at Ásland School in the next academic year, whereby the operations of the all-day school and the youth club are placed under the authority of the headteacher of Ásland School.

Representatives of the Independence Party wish to record: The operation of all-day schools is an important part of the school work for the youngest pupils. The decision to transfer responsibility for the all-day school to the Sports and Leisure Council (ÍTH) last autumn has been met with extremely mixed reactions and, in many cases, has caused significant disruption to pupils' routines. It is clear that the preparation was not sufficiently thorough, and it is unclear whether the intended financial savings were achieved. The Independence Party welcomes the proposal, as it is in line with the arguments of the minority representatives who suggested last year that the matter be approached gradually and that a pilot scheme be trialled in one school regarding the transfer of the portfolio.Helga Ingólfsdóttir (sign) Sigurlaug Anna Jóhannsdóttir (sign)
