    • 1210192 – Parental involvement

      A request from the Parents' Council of Hafnarfjörður regarding its activities in 2013 was presented.

      The Education Committee agrees to accommodate the request from the Parents' Council.

    • 1210198 – School reports

      An evaluation of mathematics teaching at secondary school level, conducted by MMR in eight schools nationwide.The review was conducted under Article 38 of the Act on Basic Education No. 91/2008 and in accordance with the Ministry of Education and Culture's three-year plan for reviews at the basic education level.

    • 1202073 – Strategic planning of the Culture and Tourism Committee in tourism.

      A review was requested from the education department regarding the strategic planning of the Culture and Tourism Committee.

      The Education Council welcomes the strategic planning of the Culture and Tourism Committee and has no comments on its individual elements. The Education Council would like to draw attention to the fact that schools in Hafnarfjörður collaborate extensively with partners both abroad and at home, thereby contributing to tourism in the town.

    • 0801395 – Education Policy of Hafnarfjörður

      Hafnarfjörður's School Policy, revision 2012-2013.

      The forthcoming work on the Hafnarfjörður School Policy was reviewed. The Education Council agrees that a three-person working group will be established to oversee the review of the Hafnarfjörður School Policy. Appointments to the group will be made at the Council's next meeting.

    • 1008212 – Prevention in the field of education

      Margrét Sigmarsdóttir, project manager for PMT, attended the meeting and reviewed the PMT and SMT projects.
