• 1205274 – Hamranes pit - landform area

  A proposal for the operational arrangements of the landscaping area in Hamranes was presented.

  Ishmael David attended the meeting and went over the procedure regarding the soil tip at the Hamranes quarry. The Environment and Operations Committee approves the proposal and refers the fee schedule section to the Town Council.

• 1208486 – Breiðvangur, Strætó bus service

  A petition from residents of Breiðvang, received on 28th August, regarding the Strætó bus service through Breiðvang, was presented.

  The Environment and Operations Committee has considered the comments from residents of Breiðvang and will take them into account when reviewing the route network, once there is more experience with it.

• 1204319 – Public transport, driving within the city

  Comments received regarding the operation of Strætó bs buses on Breiðvang were presented.

  Presented and referred to the minutes regarding item 2 (case number 1208486).

• 1208488 – Environmental issues 2012

  Björn B Hilmarsson, Head of the Service Centre, will attend the meeting and review the environmental projects for the summer of 2012.

  The Environment and Operations Committee thanks the Environment and Operations Department for how well they succeeded in keeping Hafnarfjörður clean and beautiful this summer, and thanks the staff for an exceptionally sunny summer 🙂 Special initiatives were undertaken, e.g. in the centre of Hafnarfjörður, at Hvaleyravatn Lake, the increase in rubbish bins, the opening of a special dog park, and more, which seems to have been very successful.

• 1006286 – Environmental and resource policy.

  Resubmitted.

  The Environment and Operations Committee thanks the working group and staff for their good and thorough work in preparing the draft Environmental and Resource Strategy for the City of Hafnarfjörður. $line$$line$The Environment and Operations Committee requests comments and observations from all departments, committees and commissions of the City of Hafnarfjörður. $line$$line$The Environment and Operations Committee also requests- and Executive Council seeks comments and ideas from residents and requests that the draft be made available to residents on the City of Hafnarfjörður's website, with comments to be submitted via a feedback button which will remain open until mid-November.$line$$line$Even the Environment and Operations Council proposes that an information meeting for residents will be held in October 2012.
