• 1208486 – Breiðvangur, Strætó bus service

  The operation of Strætó bs on Breiðvang will be reconsidered. Representatives of Strætó will attend the meeting.

  In recent weeks, there has been discussion about the Strætó bs service driving through Breiðvanginn and past Engidalsskóli. Discussions have taken place with representatives of Breiðvang residents regarding the feedback they have provided. A memorandum from Strætó bs. outlining proposed solutions to the issue was presented at the meeting. $line$In light of this, it is proposed that a consultation meeting be held with residents of the North Town, where these ideas will be discussed. The meeting will be held on 18 October.$line$Representatives of the Independence Party propose that full consideration be given to the comments made by residents of Breiðvang regarding the route system, and propose that the route system be revised in light of the comments received from residents as well as the opinion of the Traffic Authority, which which concurs with the residents' comments. A change will be made to the route so that the trams will no longer circle Breiðvang, a journey which takes about one minute. The Environment and Operations Committee will then make a decision on the matter at its meeting on 24 October.
