0704184 – Áslandsskóli, housing issues
The Department of Environment and Operations requests to enter into a contract with the lowest bidder, Tólf sf. $line$ Representatives of the Independence Party wish to record: Representatives of the Independence Party express their disappointment that no satisfactory solution has been found for the increase in classrooms at Ásland School. It is clear that the cost of this temporary measure is considerable and does not address the school's long-term accommodation problems.Representatives of the Social Democratic Party and the Left-Green Party wish to emphasise that a long-term solution for Áslandsskóli is being worked on, but this solution will need to be developed in cooperation with a third party, as Áslandsskóli is privately owned. Negotiations with FMhús have been ongoing this summer and, unfortunately, have not yielded the desired result, but will continue. The school's accommodation is an urgent issue, and it should be noted that the buildings attached to the school are the property of the town and can be utilised as required at any time.
