    • 0804335 – Bush fires in Hafnarfjörður

Over the past few days, gorse fires have been burning widely in the Hafnarfjörður area, causing significant damage to woodland.

The Environment Committee/Local Agenda 21 regrets the recent gorse fires in the woodland near the town. The Committee urges residents to remain vigilant and stresses to those visiting these areas the need to handle fire with care. Vegetation is very fragile, and it can take many years for damage caused by fire to recover.
