• 0909193 – Environment Assembly 9-10 October 2009

  The programme of the environmental conference held at Hotel Nordica on 9 and 10 October was presented. Sustainable development was the main theme of the conference.

  The conclusion of the environmental forum is that education is the best way to achieve sustainable development. We therefore propose that the work of introducing green thinking and environmental education to the town's nursery and primary schools should be continued.  The Environment Committee/Sd21 proposes to the Education Committee that action be taken to introduce the Green Flag project into as many of the town's schools as possible. The committee expresses its satisfaction with the Environment Minister's decision to establish youth environmental councils and therefore urges that a youth environmental council be established in all the town's schools.;

• 09102432 – Agenda 21, joint consultation meeting of the municipalities' representatives.

  Berglind Guðmundsdóttir will report on the consultation meeting of local Agenda 21 representatives, which was held in Seltjarnarnes on 13 October.
