      Geir Bjarnason, a prevention officer, attended the meeting and presented the main findings of a new survey by Research and Analysis concerning substance use among pupils in Years 8 to 10.

      A letter from Flensborgarskólinn, received by email on 20 September, regarding the town's representative's attendance on the HeF steering group, was presented for information.

      The Family Council nominates Geir Bjarnason as the town's representative on the HeF steering group.

    • 10021775 – The Hub, Employment and Development Centre

      The current agreement on active measures for jobseekers in Hafnarfjörður, run by the City of Hafnarfjörður and the Red Cross, was presented; it expires around the turn of the year. $line$Even so, a status report from the project manager of Deiglan, dated September, was also presented. 2011.

      A working group has been appointed to draw up a new family policy. The working group comprises Guðný Stefánsdóttir, Elín S. Óladóttir, ..$line$ The working group's terms of reference have been presented.$line$

      The Family Council agrees that the working group on the child protection action plan will work with the working group on the development of a new family policy.

    • 1109346 – The Ministry of Welfare, European Commission (EC). Symposium.

      The European Commission (EC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Welfare, is organising a seminar on Thursday, 20th October on policy-making and strategic work in services for people with disabilities.

    • 1109363 – The Ministry of Welfare, the position of debtors in the Nordic countries, a new report.

      A report by the Minister for Social Affairs on the situation of debtors in the Nordic countries was presented.

      Statistical information from the Social Services on financial assistance, etc., from January to August 2011 was presented.

      At the end of the meeting, the family council went on a site visit to the Hafnarfjörður Vocational Rehabilitation Centre.
