The Harbour Board welcomes the request from HF Eimskipafélag Íslands. The Harbour Board agrees that the cargo security agreement between the Port of Hafnarfjörður and HF Eimskipafélag Íslands will be transferred to Eimskip Ísland ehf., registration no. 421104-3520.
Hafnarfjörður Harbour/Hafnarfjörður Municipality cannot transfer the lease agreements for the plots to the new company until the assets on the plots have been formally transferred to the new company. When this occurs, which will be shortly according to information from the liquidator, Hafnarfjarðarhöfn/Hafnarfjarðarbær will process the request from HF Eimskipafélag Íslands to waive its pre-emption right for the transfer of the lease agreements to Eimskip Ísland ehf.

The Chairman of the Jubilee Committee reported on the Committee's proposals for the celebratory meeting of the Harbour Board on 9 September 2009, as part of the harbour's 100th anniversary celebrations.
The Harbour Board has agreed that a festive meeting of the Harbour Board will be held in Hafnarborg on Wednesday, 9 September 2009. The meeting will be opened at 17:00 and will be open to all.;
