Alcan in Iceland, on 17 August 2011, applies for the partial demolition of an older roof from 1979, the lowering of hollow panels on concrete columns, and the raising of the roof in accordance with drawings by Óskar Ingi Húnfjörð dated 17 August 2011.
The Planning and Building Officer approves the building plans in accordance with Article 11 of the Building Regulations No. 160/2010. A building permit will be issued once the conditions of paragraphs 1-4 of Article 13 of the Building Regulations have been fulfilled.

Alcan in Iceland Ltd. is applying for an extension to Building 43 in accordance with drawings by Guðjón Magnússon dated 26 July 2011.

Matarveislur ehf applied on 24 May 2011 for an internal layout alteration at Flatahrauni 5a, in accordance with drawings by Kári Eiríksson dated 24 May 2011. Drawings bearing the stamps of SHS and HHK were received on 28 June 2011. Corrected drawings with amended text were received on 23 August 2011.
The Planning and Building Officer approves the application in accordance with Article 11 of the Buildings Act no. 160/2010.

1108126 – 55 Hjallabraut, primary school, building permit
On 11 August 2011, Hjallastefnan applied for a permit to build a children's pavilion at Phase 1, in accordance with drawings by architect Kjartan Sigurðsson. The Planning and Building Officer approved the building plans on 17 August 2011, but a building permit has not been issued.
The Planning and Building Officer grants a permit for earthworks in accordance with section 13.2 of the Building Regulations No. 441/1998. The permit does not cover other works.
Part B: Organisational Matters

1108205 – Skógarás 2, two flats
Regin Grímsson, in a letter dated 18 August 2011, requests permission to convert Skógarás 2 into a house with two flats: an upper and a lower floor, each with its own permanent address number.
The Planning and Building Officer objects to the application and refers it to the Planning and Building Committee.

1101169 – Lónsbraut 4. Site condition survey.
Lónsbraut 4. A site condition survey has revealed that the site is in an unacceptable condition. On 10 January 2011, the Planning and Building Officer gave the owners of the property at 4 Lónsbraut instructions to bring the plot into an acceptable condition. If this was not complied with, the Planning and Building Officer would use their powers in accordance with the provisions of the Building Regulations Act.
The Planning and Building Officer will impose a daily fine of kr. 20,000 on each owner of the house, from 1 October, in accordance with section 56 of the Building Regulations No. 160/2010, if the request is not complied with by that date.
