  1. Part A of building permits

    • 1210657 – Hólshraun 2, extension

      The owners of the property at Hóslhrauni 2 request the formal revocation of the building permit for an extension to the said house, which was applied for and approved on 18 October 2006.

      The Planning and Building Officer agrees to revoke the building permit, provided that a corrected registration table is submitted, signed on form A2 and in electronic format. The request for fee waiver is referred to the Finance Manager.

    • 1211120 – Strandgata 21, altered registration

      On 9 November 2012, Smári Brynjarsson applied for a change of registration for the property from a guesthouse to a flat, as the property was previously registered. Previously, a building permit had been approved on 1 January 2006, based on drawings by Gísli Gunnarsson dated 20 November 2004, but the works were never carried out.

      The Planning and Building Officer approves the application in accordance with Article 11 of the Building Regulations Act No. 160/2010. The building permit from 2006 is now void, as the works did not commence within the specified period.

    • 1208050 – Skógarás 1, building permit

      Jón Ariliusson applies on 08.08.12 to build a new concrete building in accordance with drawings by Sigrún Óli dated 26.07.12. Amended drawings dated 24.07.2012 were received on 18.09.2012. New drawings dated 1 November 2012 have been received.

      The Planning and Building Officer approves the building plans in accordance with Article 11 of the Construction Act No. 160/2010. A building permit will be issued once the conditions of paragraphs 1-4 of Article 13 of the Construction Act have been fulfilled. If it is requested to rely on an older building regulation, a separate application must be made. Article 13. Issuance of a building permit. Conditions for the issuance of a building permit are as follows: 1. The structure and its use are in accordance with the area's planning schemes.$line$2. The main and specialist drawings have been reviewed and the granting authority has signed them to confirm approval.$line$3. Building permit fees and other required charges have been paid, such as the road development fee in accordance with the provisions of the Road Development Fee Act, and the parking fee or fee for planning work in accordance with the provisions of the Planning Act, or an agreement has been made for their payment. However, this does not apply to fees that are not due for payment until the building permit is issued.$line$4. The building supervisor has signed a declaration of their responsibility and submitted to the licensing authority the signed declarations of responsibility from the tradesmen who will be responsible for individual parts of the work.

    Part B: Organisational Matters

    • 11032659 – Gjáhella 19, site tidiness.

      It has been brought to our attention that the state of the grounds at 19 Gjáhellu is poor. On 18/07/12, the Planning and Building Officer instructed the owners to bring the grounds into an acceptable condition within four weeks. This instruction has not been complied with.

      The Planning and Building Officer reiterates his instructions. If the request is not addressed within 4 weeks, the Planning and Building Officer will impose a daily fine on the owners in accordance with section 56 of the Buildings Act No. 160/2010.

    • 1011321 – Gjáhella 7, stage of construction and use

      Crack Slab 7 is registered on bst/mst. 4, although it has been put into use. The Planning and Building Officer called for a final inspection on 14.03.2012, but an extension was granted until 01.06.12. This deadline has not been met.

      The Planning and Building Officer has scheduled a final inspection for 15:00 on 07/12/12, in accordance with Article 36 of the Building Regulations Act No. 160/2010. The building supervisor is required to take the necessary measures as stipulated by the law. Should he fail to comply, the Planning and Building Officer will apply the provisions of Articles 56 and 57 of the same Act regarding daily fines and a reprimand.

    • 1201327 – Einivellir 5, construction stage and inspections

      Einivellir 5 is registered at construction stage 7, despite the fact that no final inspection has taken place. The Planning and Building Officer called for a final inspection on 12 March 2012 at 15:00 in accordance with Article 36 of the Building Regulations No. 160/2010. The Planning and Building Officer called for a final inspection on 30 April 2012. The building supervisor, Anton Kjartansson, was required to take the measures stipulated by law. Should he fail to comply, the planning and building officer would apply the provisions of Articles 56 and 57 of the same Act regarding daily fines and a reprimand. Since then, there has been a dispute as to who is the building supervisor for the house.

      The Planning and Building Officer is to conduct a final inspection on 27.11.12 at 15:00, in accordance with Article 36 of the Building Regulations Act no. 160/2010. The building surveyor, Ágúst Pétursson, is required to take the measures stipulated by law. Should he fail to comply, the planning and building officer will apply the provisions of Articles 56 and 57 of the same Act regarding daily fines and a reprimand.

    • 1011320 – Gjáhella 5 stages of construction and use

      Gjáhella 5, which is in an industrial estate, is registered on bst. 4, mst. 8 despite being fully built and in use; it is missing a final inspection. An extension was granted until 01.04.11. The Planning and Building Officer scheduled a final inspection for 07.03.2012, but an extension was granted until 01.06.12. This deadline has not been met.

      The Planning and Building Officer has scheduled a final inspection for 11.12.12 at 14:30, in accordance with Article 36 of the Building Regulations Act no. 160/2010. The building supervisor is required to take the measures stipulated by the law. Should he fail to comply, the Planning and Building Officer will apply the provisions of Articles 56 and 57 of the same Act regarding daily fines and a reprimand.

    • 1211145 – Middlejärn 41, alteration

      On 12 November 2012, Jón I. Garðarsson ehf applied to install a window and a door on the west side and to alter the internal layout, in accordance with drawings by Jón Guðmundsson dated 10 October 2012.

      The Planning and Building Officer has deferred the matter as the submitted documents are insufficient. Please see the attached comments.
