• 0810346 – Drug Prevention, Priorities

  A prevention officer went over the circumstances surrounding the writing and publication of an article about marijuana in the last Fjarðarpóstur.

  The Prevention Committee strongly recommends that this approach is continued, providing parents with clear information regarding substance misuse prevention, preventative measures, and how to respond.

• 0809116 – Parents' stroll

  Parent walks are now held in all neighbourhoods of the town. The initiative has, in the opinion of many, yielded good results.

  The committee will attend and invite other interested parties to the Old Library at 22:30 on 27th March. Coffee will be served, and a prevention officer will present the work and lead a group of interested people around the centre of Hafnarfjörður to update them on the situation.;

• 0709147 – Live advice, collaboration

  A prevention officer reported on discussions with representatives of Lifandi Ráðgjafar regarding collaborative projects.

• 0902249 – Restaurant advertisement

  A police report was presented concerning the presence of children at the Dillon restaurant, an advertisement that was distributed around Hafnarfjörður and included, among other things, a alcohol advertisement, and an advertisement for the Dillon restaurant that was distributed onto the school grounds of the town's secondary schools.

  The Prevention Committee believes that this is a repeated violation of the alcohol laws and of the fundamental right of children and teenagers to be spared from the harassment of alcohol advertising.

  The Prevention Committee instructs the prevention officer to work in consultation with the town solicitor to find ways to ensure the rights of children and young people, with specific reference to Article 17. Article of the procedural rules of Hafnarfjörður Municipality concerning alcohol licences, shall be taken into account in the processing of the matter.;

• 0902278 – Health policy

  The Ministry of Health's health strategy was presented and the prevention officer went over its main points.

  The Prevention Committee endorses the aims of the policy and considers it a necessary initiative.;

• 0902347 – Drug trafficking, national initiative

  A proposal has been submitted from Svavar Sigurðsson's National Campaign against Drug Importation, in which he requests the support of the City of Hafnarfjörður for the campaign.

  The Prevention Committee requests further information about the activities and annual accounts of the National Initiative.;
