    • 0801172 – Prevention Committee, Housing

      The prevention officer gave a brief overview of the housing issues at the Old Library.

      The Prevention Committee reminds the council of the resolution from the Family Council of 23 April 2008, which proposes terminating the lease agreement for the Old Library.;

    • 0905037 – Vandalism, procedure and case handling

      An established procedure for dealing with criminal damage to the property of the City of Hafnarfjörður, to be followed when children and young people are the perpetrators. The project aims to work with the police to pursue a „restorative justice“ approach, which has proven successful. In this way, the perpetrator must face their actions and take part in making amends for the damage, in consultation with the police, the insurance company and the City of Hafnarfjörður.

    • 0701227 – Wine licence

      The law on restaurants and wine licences was recently changed.

      The Prevention Committee concurs with the resolution of the Family Council of 29 April. 2009, where emphasis is placed on accelerating the work on the revision of the police by-law and the rules of procedure for alcohol licences, taking into account, inter alia, changes in legislation. The Family Council also emphasises that when preparing municipal reviews, consideration will be given to preventative perspectives.;

      The prevention officer submitted a memorandum on various projects that are underway over the summer.;

    • 0905088 – Summer leisure courses. Increased accessibility and catering.

      A prevention officer presented a scheme run by the Children's Welfare Fund, the aim of which is to increase access for children and teenagers to sports, games and leisure courses across the country this summer. The aim is to lower and subsidise participation fees, provide a hot lunch at midday, increase employment opportunities for secondary school students, support families, support the courses, and thereby ensure greater access for children.

      The prevention committee considers the project necessary and believes that a difficult financial situation should not prevent children from taking part in play schemes. The prevention officer has been tasked with continuing to work on the project.;

    • 0905115 – The child's day

      The Child's Day will be on 24 May 2009. Organisations that work with children and young people are encouraged by the Ministry of Social Affairs to make use of the day, and to encourage families to celebrate it and spend it together.
