  1. General presentations

    • 10021128 – Youth centres, events 2010

      A report on the inter-youth centre quiz competition, the final of which took place at Flensburg School to a full house on 12th April, and it was the youth centre 'Setrið' that ultimately won the tiebreaker. A brief report was also given on the youth centre handball and table tennis tournament, held during the Easter school holidays, which was a success. Vitinn won the handball tournament and Setrið the table tennis tournament.

      The Sports and Leisure Committee congratulates Setrinu and Vitanum on their victory.

  • 1003084 – ITH, Summer Programme 2010, special provision for disabled children

    The Head of Youth and Leisure Services announced a new summer programme for disabled children, run by the Hafnarfjörður Work Experience Programme in partnership with the Hafnarfjörður Social Services.

  • 0809308 – Equality initiative in sports and leisure activities - Women on the boards of sports and leisure clubs

    The chairman of ÍTH pointed out that few women were on the boards of sports and leisure associations and called for ways to be found to increase women's participation.

    <SPAN style=“COLOR: The Sports and Leisure Committee welcomes the idea and instructs the Operations Manager for Youth and Leisure Affairs and the Executive Director of ÍBH to take the project forward. It also requests a memorandum on the matter for the next meeting of the committee.

  • 1004259 – Time allocation to schools 2010-2011

    The Sports Officer presented draft schedules for the allocation of time in sports facilities to schools for the 2010-2011 academic year. A total of 41,000 hours are being allocated.

  • 1004258 – Hafnarfjörður Swimming Club, grant application

    A letter from the Hafnarfjörður Swimming Club, dated 15th April, has been submitted requesting a grant for the SH International Open and the Icelandic Age Group Swimming Championships in the summer of 2010.

    <SPAN style=“COLOR: The Sports and Leisure Committee approves a grant of kr. 250,000 to the application, delegates its processing to the Sports Officer, and also requests a cost estimate for the competition.

  • 1004260 – Annual Meeting of F.I.Æ.T 2010

    The agenda for the Annual General Meeting of the Association of Sports, Youth and Leisure Officers, to be held in Reykholt from 30 April to 2 May, was presented for information.

      Minutes of the working group on the development of the FH area from 25.03. and 30.03. were laid on the table for information.

    • 1001025 – Ski Area of the Capital Region, minutes 2010

      Minutes of the meeting of the Board of Ski Areas of the Capital Region, held on 6 April, were laid on the table for information.
