    • 0911127 – Subsidies for sports and leisure - draft regulations

Íþróttafulltrúi lagði fram drög að reglum um niðurgreiðslur æfingagjalda barna 6-16 ára vegna íþrótta og tómstundaiðkunar.%0D%0D

The majority of the Sports and Leisure Committee approves the rules.

Statement of the Independence Party representative:

The representative of the Independence Party believes that the subsidy system could be simplified and made more efficient. In this regard, for example, the system could have been changed by paying the sports and leisure grant directly to the parents of children, and it would then be their responsibility to claim the grant from the local council.

Statement from the representative of the Social Democratic Party:

The Social Democratic Alliance representative believes that the Independence Party's proposal is not designed to reduce the complexity of subsidies. The idea of paying the sports and leisure grant directly to parents was never discussed in the majority's talks with the IBA and the sports clubs.
