  The launch of the community centre's work was presented, along with improved facilities and new priorities at Verið.

• 0808271 – Ásinn youth centre, a pilot project with Year 4

  A pilot project in Ásnum was presented, where work with Year 4 will take place this winter.

• 0804153 – Activity Centre, project 2008

  The arrangement for the autumn term has been presented, and a wide range of courses will be offered, with each leisure centre offering 2-3 courses.

• 0804272 – Ásvallalaug

  The opening programme for Ásvallalaugar, to be held on Saturday, 6th September at 13:00, was presented for information. A site visit will take place after the meeting.

• 0808267 – Finance in the field, overview

  The financial position of the department was presented.

• 0808264 – Ásvellir, new developments, review

  A report from the Sports and Leisure Committee on the new development at Ásvellir was presented.

  Sigmundur was present for the review.

• 0808044 – Subsidy for 16-year-olds and younger, overview

  Discussion on the arrangement of subsidies.

  The chairman of ÍTH and the chairman of ÍBH have been tasked with making a proposal on procedures regarding the reimbursement of multi-sport clubs.

Applications

• 0808265 – International tournament for FH and Haukar, request for funding

  A request for a grant for an international handball tournament in August was submitted by Einar Andri Einarsson, on behalf of FH and Haukar, dated 21 August.

  The Sports and Leisure Committee agrees to grant the application of kr. 100,000 and delegates the sports officer to finalise the matter. A budget for the event is also requested.

• 0808266 – Strongest Man in Iceland, strength request

  A proposal from the Association of Icelandic Strongmen, dated 20th August, has been submitted, requesting a grant for the 'Strongest Man in Iceland' competition series.

  The Sports and Leisure Committee agrees to grant the application of kr. 50,000 and delegates the sports officer to finalise the matter. A budget for the event is also requested.

• 0808263 – Women's basketball, funding request for national team matches

  A request from the Haukar Basketball Department, dated 14 August, has been submitted, requesting a grant for the organisation of the women's national team's international matches in August/September.

  The Sports and Leisure Committee agrees to grant the application of kr. 50,000 and delegates the sports officer to finalise the matter. A budget for the event is also requested.
