• 0810262 – Work plan of the sports department 2009

  Draft work plan for the sports department for 2009 was presented for information.

• 0810261 – Skateboarding facilities, report

  To consider the motion of 14th October last regarding a skateboarding facility for young people in the Setberg, Öldutún and Lækjarskóli school districts.

  The Sports and Leisure Committee welcomes the proposal and refers it to the Executive Board for further processing.

• Group formation in the city centre

  Unfavourable teenage group formations have been reported in Hellisgerði and the centre of Hafnarfjörður.

• 0810268 – Youth Affairs Action Plan regarding the situation in society and its impact on young people

  The Head of Youth and Leisure Services reported on the ideas that have emerged regarding the role of youth centres in responding to the impact of the current situation in society on children and young people.

• 0809118 – The Police in Hafnarfjörður, cooperation

  The Capital Region Police presented the latest statistical information on crime trends in Hafnarfjörður to representatives of the town at a meeting held in the Old Library on 22 October.

• 0809308 – Equality matters, appointment of a working group

  The representatives from the Sports and Leisure Committee will be Margrét Gauja Magnúsdóttir and Guðmundur Jónsson, and from ÍBH it will be Elísabet Ólafsdóttir.

Presentations

• 0810264 – The Talents Competition, Seal and Carnival of the Wave 2008

  The talent competition, Höfrung, which took place on 9th October at the youth centre Hrauni, was very well attended and featured a large number of acts. There was also a great atmosphere at the annual Carnival of the Wave, which took place on 23rd October and was a great success, as always.

• 0810269 – ÍTH youth centres, dance festival

  A dance festival was held at the youth centre Verið on Monday, 27th October, and this is the first time such a competition has been held by the youth centres in Hafnarfjörður. There were individual and group competitions, and the dance was open. Competition was held in both the intermediate and junior divisions.
