  1. General presentations

    • 0812047 – Streetwise - out-of-school patrol

      Youth centre staff have been on duty on Saturday evenings, and this is a joint project between the prevention department and the youth and leisure department.

    • 0812048 – Parents' stroll

      A discussion was held about the parents' walk in the town's neighbourhoods, and it is going very well in all of them.

      The Sports and Leisure Committee will attend the parents' walk.;

    • 0812049 – Gizmo, a Dutch exhibition at the Lighthouse

      A grand talent show was held at Vitanum on 4th December last, and this decade-old event is called Gizmo. Around 100 teenagers took part in the show, with a large audience in attendance.

    • 0812046 – ÍBH, Hafnarfjörður Municipality, Alcan, allocation in accordance with the contract

      Drafts for the allocation of grants to the sports clubs under the relevant agreement for the sports activities of 16-year-olds and younger, with regard to the educational aspect of coaches and the development of the clubs' curricula, were presented for information, totalling kr. 4,800,000. The grants will be presented at the Sports Festival on 29 December.

    • 0812045 – Fitness facilities at Suðurbæjarlaug, extension of the lease agreement

      An agreement was presented for the extension of the lease agreement of Medic Operating AB, dated 12 October 1998, for premises to operate a health and fitness centre at Suðurbæjarlaug.

      The Sports and Leisure Committee approves the agreement for its part.;

    • 0812044 – Municipal grants for sports activities, a comparative report by the City of Reykjavík

      A report from the Reykjavík Sports Association, dated October 2008, was presented for information: Grants for sports activities. Comparison between municipalities. Figures based on 2006.

    • 0811040 – Sports and Awards Gala 2008

      Draft agenda for the celebration to be held at the Sports Hall on Strandgata, on Thursday, 29th December at 18:00. In total, around 555 national champions will be honoured, 15 cup-winning teams, and special individual awards for achievements including Nordic championships titles and Olympic participation. Acknowledgement grants will also be awarded to sports clubs for National and Cup Championship titles in the top divisions, totalling 16 groups and an allocation of kr. 3,300,000.

    Applications

    • 0812056 – Haukar basketball club, request for funding

      A request from the Haukar Basketball Department, dated 1st December, has been submitted, requesting a grant for a mini-basketball tournament to be held in January.

      The Sports and Leisure Committee agrees to increase the grant by kr. 50,000 and delegates the sports officer to finalise the matter. A cost estimate for the tournament is also requested.;

      The minutes of the Sports Association of Hafnarfjörður from 3rd November were presented for information.
