  At its meeting on 10 January, the Planning and Building Committee referred Ingvar Guðmundsson's query regarding the construction at 1 Linnetstíg to the City Centre Committee for consideration.

  Malfridur Kristjansson, an architect at the Department of Planning and Building, presented the matter, and she is thanked for the presentation.

• 0707107 – 18 Suðurgata, detailed plan

  At its meeting on 10 January, the Planning and Building Committee referred the amendment to the detailed plan for the site at 18 Suðurgata to the City Centre Committee for its consideration.

  The Town Centre Committee is positive about the construction of a hotel in the centre of Hafnarfjörður and believes that such an activity will strengthen the town centre. Access to Suðurgata 24 and 28 must be secured, but the committee believes the hotel's appearance on the Suðurgata side is in good harmony with the streetscape. An assessment of traffic matters and overshadowing is underway, and the committee requests to be kept informed of the results.

  Request for an opinion from the City Centre Committee on the Planning and Building Department's planning statement regarding the expansion of the Hafnarfjörður Library.

  The Town Centre Committee welcomes that work has begun on the preparations for a library and County Archive in the town centre of Hafnarfjörður. The Committee emphasises that consideration be given to a cohesive streetscape on Strandgata and Austurgata during the design of the building. Furthermore, the committee believes that special consideration should be given to the parking requirements that will arise from the library's expansion, and stresses that these matters should be addressed separately in parallel with the area's design. The Town Centre Committee requests to be kept closely informed of the matter's progress.

  Bókun fulltrúa Sjálfstæðisflokksins.%0DFulltrúi Sjálfstæðisflokksins mótmælir vinnubrögðum skipulags- og byggingarráðs frá 7.12.2007 og bæjarstjórnar frá 11.12.2007 þar sem gengið er framhjá miðæjarnefnd og henni ekki gefið tækifæri til að gefa umsögn um deiliskipulagsbreytingu á Strandgötu 26-30. Þrátt fyrir að henni hafi verið falið að fjalla um þessar deiliskipulagsbreytingar af skipulags- og byggingarráði 11. sept. 2007. %0DÍ 3. gr. erindisbréfs miðbæjarnefndar segir „Hlutverk miðbæjarnefndar er eftirfarandi: Að vera umsagnaraðili um öll mál sem tengjast miðbæ Hafnarfjarðar (sjá skilgreiningu í þróunaráætlun miðbæjarnefndar). Með þessu er jafnt átt við mál er varða skipulags- og byggingarmál sem og atvinnu-, þróunar- og menningarmál í miðbæ Hafnarfjarðar. Það er einnig hlutverk nefndarinnar í samstarfi við sviðsstjóra þjónustu- og þróunarsviðs að móta þróunaráætlun til framtíðar fyrir miðbæinn og fylgjast með að ákvarðanir séu teknar í samræmi við þá áætlun.“%0DTil hvers er að hafa starfandi nefnd sem hefur hlutverk samkvæmt erindisbréfi og vísa erindum til hennar ef ekki er ætlunin að fá álit hennar áður en mikilvægar ákvarðanir eru teknar. %0DFulltrúi Sjálfstæðisflokkins í miðbæjarnefnd leggur til að nefndin verði lögð niður. En til vara að 3. gr. erindisbréfs nefndarinnar verði breytt og hún ekki lengur umsagnaraðili um skipulags- og byggingarmál þar sem þessi grein er marklaus að mati bæjarstjórnar.
