More town officials return to the classroom
The Leadership School has now been established for the second time. The aim is for all managers of the City of Hafnarfjörður to attend the school, thereby making the City of Hafnarfjörður an even more desirable place to work.
Encouraged for a results-oriented culture
Nearly thirty managers from the City of Hafnarfjörður took their seats at school today, 3 February, and began their studies at the Leadership School. They form the second group to attend the school, which was first established before Christmas.
The school's objectives are clear. To create a culture of results-oriented management in the workplace, in line with the motto of the City of Hafnarfjörður: friendly, reliable and smart service. The group is composed of directors, heads of department, managers, school and nursery heads, and other leaders in the town's service.
Grants for development
The aim is to enhance the leadership skills of managers at Hafnarfjörður Municipality and to encourage employees to pursue further development. It is also to raise their awareness of their own impact on the development of workplace culture and the success of their organisation.
The managers attend eight different 3.5-hour workshops. The aim is for as many managers as possible to complete the course within the next three years.
Increase management insight
The managers gain insight into, among other things, empowering leadership training, good governance, how the leader is a driving force, finance, equality and management.
