Night bus to Hafnarfjörður is back again

Test run from 1 October 2023 – 1 January 2024. This is a three-month pilot project, and usage of the service will be monitored during this period. Departure times from Lækjartorg B are 1:20, 2:25 and 3:45 on Saturdays and Sundays.

Test run from 1 October 2023 – 1 January 2024

The night bus service resumed last weekend, specifically on the early hours of Saturday, 30th September. This is a three-month pilot project, and usage of the service will be monitored during this period. The usage data will provide a clear indication of the need for and cost-effectiveness of the service, and will form the basis for a decision on its continuation once the pilot project has concluded.

The Hafnarfjörður Town Council has entered into an agreement with Strætó for a trial night bus service between the capital and Hafnarfjörður from 1 October 2023 to 1 January 2024. The 101 route will be operated, but with the change that only stops will be made at Hamraborg in Kópavogur and Ásgarður in Garðabær on the way. The route is also slightly extended, and the final stop will be Hamranes in Hafnarfjörður. Departure times from Lækjartorg B are 1:20, 2:25 and 3:45 on Saturdays and Sundays.
