Open house at the brand-new service centre on 17 June
Hafnarfjörður's customer service opens at Strandgata 8-10 promptly at 8 a.m. on 18 June. There will be an open house between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on the national day, and coffee will be served.
Hafnarfjörður residents get a new service centre
A change will take place around the middle of the month when a new and updated service centre for Hafnarfjörður will be opened to serve the town's residents even better. The customer service centre is moving within the town hall and will be in the current location of Íslandsbanki. Yes, it is moving from Strandgata 6 to Strandgata 8-10. The bank will also remain in its place, and the entrance between the customer service centre and Íslandsbanki will be shared on the corner of Strandgata and Linnetstígs. The official opening of the service centre will be on 17 June between 13:00 and 17:00.
All welcome on the national day
„We're welcoming residents and showing them the new premises,“ says Anna Bára Gunnarsdóttir, Head of the Service Centre. Coffee and doughnuts will be served.
„We are expanding the facility and further improving all our services for residents,“ says Anna Bára. The current service centre, which has been in operation since 2003, had become too small.
„A larger reception area. Better meeting rooms. All interview rooms will be more accessible. This is also an improved working environment, which we welcome,“ says Anna Bára. „The telephone exchange will be separated from the general facilities in the new service centre. This creates more privacy, which is highly desirable. The premises have become both elegant and beautiful, and will serve for decades to come.“
A new service centre for a changing town
Anna Bára points out that in the 20 or so years since the service centre was opened, much has changed in Hafnarfjörður. For example, the population has increased significantly by 52%, from 20,720 to 31,525.
„The service has changed and we welcome being able to serve residents in the best possible way in these excellent facilities. We warmly welcome you, the residents, and we will do our utmost to resolve any issues that arise.“ Yes, the same building, the same great staff, a new entrance and a magnificent new space.
