Leisure activities for young people with disabilities
At Vinaskjól, 16–20 year-old young people who are in secondary school can stay during the day after school finishes.
The aim of Vinaskjól is to support young people towards independence, strengthen their power and self-determination, and increase their social skills and general participation. The work focuses on building self-confidence and empathy for others, as well as fun leisure activities that the young people help to organise.
Registration takes place on the leisure website. Vala or by speaking to an adviser at the local authority where the young person lives.
Vinaskjól's opening hours
Vinaskjól is open every weekday from 12–17. On working days or other shortened school days, Vinaskjól is open from 8–17. On those days, you need to apply for extended stay via email. vinaskjol@hafnarfjordur.is or by phone 565 5100.
Who can attend?
Young people with disabilities aged 16 to 25 who live in Hafnarfjörður, Garðabær, Kópavogur or Grindavík. Before attending, you must register to be successful.
