Magnús Bjarni Baldursson has been appointed project manager of the new Marketing Office of Hafnarfjörður for six months. Magnús Bjarni was appointed from a field of around fifty applicants.

Magnús Bjarni Baldursson has been appointed project manager of the new Marketing Office of Hafnarfjörður for six months. Magnús Bjarni was appointed from a pool of around fifty applicants.

Magnús Bjarni has considerable experience in marketing, brand development, advertising and management. In addition, he has worked in university teaching, served on company boards and was chairman of the Association of Icelandic Advertising Agencies for a time. Magnús Bjarni holds a BSc in Natural Sciences from the University of Iceland and a Master's degree in Econometric Methodology from York University in Toronto, Canada.

Magnús will work with the preparatory board of the Marketing Agency to define its role, prepare for its formal establishment, and mobilise the cooperation of the town, businesses and residents, as well as working on the agency's strategy.

The town and the community here in Hafnarfjörður have high hopes for the Marketing Bureau of Hafnarfjörður, which is set to be formally established this autumn,“ says Haraldur Líndal Haraldsson, the Mayor.

„I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to be involved in this great project. I look forward to working with the people of Hafnarfjörður to make a good town even better. There are special opportunities everywhere in Hafnarfjörður and I feel a great sense of dynamism in this sphere within the town,“ says Magnús Bjarni Baldursson. He will start work on 5 June.

About the Marketing Office of Hafnarfjörður

Work is underway to formally establish the Marketing Office of Hafnarfjörður, which is scheduled to begin operations in the autumn. The Marketing Office of Hafnarfjörður will be a leader in making Hafnarfjörður a strong choice for people and businesses for residence, employment and leisure. By strengthening the collaboration between residents, businesses, associations and the local council, the Marketing Bureau will also serve as a forum for exchanging ideas on how to make a good town even better.
