The City of Hafnarfjörður has challenged each neighbourhood to take part in the sculling competition this year. Which neighbourhood has the most powerful oarsmen? Which captain will bring their vessel into port first?

Seafarers' Day is laden with treats this year, as ever:
- Kaffihlaðborð Kænunnar between 13-17
- Open house at Hafnarfjörður Ice Hall and Ægi 220
- There will be fun at the Adventure Harbour between 1 pm and 5 pm.
- The competition for who is the strongest man in Iceland will be held at the harbour.

Morning events
- 8:00 Flags are lowered to half-mast at the ceremony site by the harbour.
- 10:00 – The Hafnarfjörður Brass Band plays at Hrafnista.
- 10:30 A wreath was laid at the seafarers' memorial at Vidistaðakirkja.
- 11:00 – Seafarers' Day Mass at Víðistaðakirkja

- Cruise – A cruise operated by the Port of Hafnarfjörður from Óseyrarbryggja from 13:00 to 16:30.
- Boatyard – Build your own boat at the Hafnarfjörður Icehouse.
- The Marine Research Institute's Fish Exhibition – Explore the diverse marine life at Háabakka.
- The Sailing Club Þytur – Open house at the club, 88 Strandgata.
- The Clever One's Coffee Buffet Enjoy a meal at The Clever Clog by the harbour.
- Björgúlfur calls Coffee, cakes and a pillow fight at Flensburg Harbour.
- „Do you want to come to sea?“ – Strength competition at the memorial to the German presence in Hafnarfjörður.
- The Herjólf Steam at Langeyrarmalir – Steam and sea in perfect balance from 10:00 to 13:00.
Performances and culture
- „Seafaring life – Júlí GK 21“ – Screening of a documentary about fishing with the innovative trawler Júlía GK 21 in the conference room of the Institute of Marine Research from 13:00 to 16:00.
- Exhibitions at Hafnarborg – „In Tíma og ótíma“ and „Kassíópeia“ in the Main Hall and Sverrisal.
Visitors are encouraged to park legally in car parks near the event venue or in the town centre and walk or take the bus, as the harbour area is closed to traffic during the celebrations.
