Who is entitled to a transport service?

To be eligible for the service, you must be a resident of Hafnarfjörður and meet at least one of the following requirements: 

• Having a mobility impairment and using a wheelchair
• Cannot use public transport due to a disability
• To be a blind person

Children with disabilities can get transport to get to medical appointments or to therapy. School transport and after-school transport are available for children to get to school and to leisure activities.

How do you apply for a taxi service?

It is applied for on Our pages in an application for services for people with disabilities. For more information, you can send an enquiry to akstur@hafnarfjordur.is.

How much does the taxi service cost?

• Regular journeys cost the same as half a bus fare. Regular journeys are journeys that are booked 16 days in advance, for example for work, school or training.
• Last-minute trips cost the same as a bus fare.
• If a journey is not cancelled in advance, a double bus fare must be paid.

Booking a ride

Teitur Jónasson Ltd. provides a specialised transport service, and single and regular journeys can be booked and cancelled by telephone. 515 2720 and at the email address ferd@teitur.is

515 2720. The booking needs to be made at least two hours in advance. If there is less than 24 hours until the trip, it is best to call.

The customer service opening hours are from 08:00 to 16:00 on weekdays.

Passengers

If a passenger cannot travel unaccompanied, they can travel with an assistant, who does not have to pay.

You may bring one other passenger with you, who will be charged the same fee.
