Two glorious victories in quiz competitions in a short space of time

Students at Setbergsskóli have achieved excellent results in primary school quiz competitions in recent weeks, securing two impressive victories in a short space of time. The school's team first won the 'Do You Know the Answer?' quiz in Hafnarfjörður, and then followed up that success with a victory in the Capital Region's Primary School Quiz.

In the 'Do You Know the Answer?' final, Setbergsskóli and Víðistaðaskóli faced off in a thrilling match that was decided by a single point. In the end, Setbergsskóli came out on top, 17–16, thereby defending their title from the previous year. On 9th April, the Setbergsskóli team then took part in the semi-finals of the Capital Area Primary School Quiz, which were held at Reykjavík Town Hall. There, four teams that had won their respective groups in the preliminary round competed: Dalskóli, Lágafellsskóli, Laugalækjarskóli and Setbergsskóli.

Setbergsskóli and Lágafellsskóli won in the semi-finals and then met in the final, which proved to be extremely exciting right up to the last minute. The Setbergsskóli team emerged as the victor and received both the ownership cup and the travelling cup as a prize.

Great knowledge, collaboration and competitive spirit

The winning team included Hrafnkell Hrafnsson, Karólína Bríet Arelakis and Reynir Örn Sigrúnarson, who also formed part of the school's team in 'Do You Know the Answer?'. Karólína Bríet was also the only girl in the entire competition team this year. Training, preparation and guidance were in the hands of Margrét Guðbrandsdóttir, who has put her heart and soul into the project. The result is a testament to the great knowledge, teamwork and competitive spirit of the Setbergsskóli students, and is a great credit to the entire school community.
