The Family Council resolved at its meeting this morning to recommend to the Town Council that it withdraw, for the time being, its decision to amend the special housing benefit, which was approved in the 2015 budget on 9 December.
The Family Council also agreed to undertake a detailed review of the special housing benefit scheme. The rules and amounts governing special housing benefit will be reviewed, and both will be examined retrospectively, including who is entitled to this financial support.
The review will look at a comparison of the framework for special housing benefit between municipalities, where the provisions in Hafnarfjörður are compared with those in comparable municipalities.
The aim is for a conclusion to be available when the operational review of the municipality is presented, or no later than the end of April 2015.
Here it is possible See the minutes from this morning, which include, among other things, a presentation from October 2014, a memorandum, and a comparison of housing benefit with other local authorities.
