Star Wars Day at our library

„We are now celebrating Star Wars Day on Saturday, 2nd May, which is celebrated worldwide on 4th May. This is the last major event at Hafnarfjörður Library, but as residents know, the library will close its doors on 18 May and move to a new and splendid premises at Fjörður on Strandgata,“ says Unnur Helga Möller, Events Manager at Hafnarfjörður Library.

„Of course, there will be aliens, bad guys and heroes present, but the library has long been considered part of the Empire and therefore falls under the protection of Darth Vader,“ says Unnur with great confidence. Around 500 Star Wars fans are expected to attend.

Now is the perfect opportunity to visit the old Library for the last time, pick up all the books everyone needs for the summer, and meet heroes from outer space. Everyone can borrow 30 books, which don't have to be returned until 1st August because of the move – and then they'll be returned to the new location!

„Star Wars Day is always a really fun day,“ says Unnur, who is holding the Star Wars Day for the fifth time.

Yes, let's enjoy different worlds together!
