Swimming and culture over Easter 2024

Happy Easter, dear Hafnfirðingar and friends!

Hafnarfjörður's primary schools are on Easter holiday. Normal school will resume on Tuesday, 2nd April.

The nurseries in Hafnarfjörður will be open on weekdays during Holy Week, except on public holidays. They will be closed from Thursday, 28th March until 1st April. The same applies to the City of Hafnarfjörður's service centre at Strandgata 6 and the service centre at Norðurhellu 2.

Now it's time to enjoy. The health-focused town of Hafnarfjörður is in many ways a unique place, not least for its lively and entertaining town centre, charming harbour area, and easy access to a diverse and beautiful range of natural gems.

Many Interesting places are within walking distance of the town centre, for example Hellisgerði, Víðistaðatún, Lækurinn and Hamarinn, in addition to which residents of Hafnarfjörður enjoy the luxury of having Helgafell, Hvaleyrarvatn, Ásfjall and Ástjörn in their back garden.

The health town of Hafnarfjörður encourages the residents of Hafnarfjörður to take a deep breath over the Easter period and enjoy spending time together and being outdoors in the company of family and friends.

The library is open on Saturday, 30th March from 12 pm to 4 pm.

Port city will be open as follows over the Easter period:

• Maundy Thursday, 28th March, open 12–17
• Good Friday, 29th March. Closed
• Saturday 30 March. Open 12–17
• Easter Sunday, 31st March. Closed
• Easter Monday, 1st April. Open 12–17

Hafnarfjörður Museum of Local History – The warehouse is open on Saturday, 30th March from 11 am to 5 pm.
