Swimming, masks, workshops, games and a treasure hunt during the Winter Break
Swimming will be free in Hafnarfjörður on the 24th and 25th of February. It is the winter holiday for nursery and primary schools, and the Hafnarfjörður Music School. Treasure hunts, a troll workshop, mask-making and a games room await the children at the Hafnarfjörður Library and Folk Museum. There will be an art workshop in Hafnarborg. Fun and joy on these school holidays for our children.

You don't have to go far for a great family day out during the Winter Holidays in Hafnarfjörður. The library's games room will be open, there will be mask-making in the children's section, and a troll workshop on Tuesday. There will also be a new Harry Potter scavenger hunt at the library between 9 am and 12 pm on Monday, and again between 1 pm and 3 pm on Tuesday. Sculpture workshops will be held at Hafnarborg on both days for children and adults between 1 pm and 3 pm.
The Harry Potter game will not be the only scavenger hunt, as those who are interested can also take part in a scavenger hunt at the Packhouse on both days between 11 am and 3 pm.
We would particularly like to point out that it will be possible to watch A film on the big screen at Ásvallalaug Between 11-16 on Tuesday. Yippee.
What might Monday look like, for example?
- 9 am – Start the day at the local swimming pool
- 11 am – Go on a treasure hunt in the Packhouse
- 13:00–15:00 – Multilingual Sculpture Workshop in Hafnarfjörður
- 3 pm – Playing in the games room in the children's section at the Library
What might Tuesday look like, for example?
- 11 am – Meet at the library and go on a Harry Potter scavenger hunt.
- 12 o'clock – Let's get stuck into some mask-making at the Library.
- 1 pm – The troll workshop starts at the library, and that's where we want to be.
- 3 pm – Let's go to a café in the city centre and have a snack.
- 4pm – Then you can swim until dinnertime!
These are suggestions, and you can arrange the programme as you wish. Start the day when it suits you, and finish when it suits you.
