Company of the Year makes Hafnarfjörður a better place!

The Marketing Bureau of Hafnarfjörður has chosen Te & Kaffi Company of the Yearin Hafnarfjörður. Guðmundur Halldórsson, managing director of Te & kaffi, accepted the award at a ceremony in Hafnarborg yesterday, 9th April. The marketing agency honours companies that have excelled during the year for promoting business in Hafnarfjörður and for helping to make Hafnarfjörður a better community through their activities and events.

Jóhannes Egilsson, vice-chairman of the board of the Marketing Agency of Hafnarfjörður, gave a speech and welcomed the guests. Rósa Guðbjartsdóttir, the mayor of Hafnarfjörður, presented the award. The incomparable Frímann Gunnarsson took to the stage and told jokes in his own inimitable style.

Te & Kaffi shapes the nation's café culture

Te & Kaffi is a family-owned company that was founded in 1984. The brand has evolved through continuous innovation and product development, and the company also operates a number of cafés. Te & Kaffi places great emphasis on environmental issues, with sustainability as its guiding principle.

„Strict quality control is applied throughout the entire processing of the coffee beans and in the selection of the right raw materials. The company's aim is to offer customers the best coffee available, in the most environmentally friendly way possible,“ says a statement from the Marketing Board. In recent years, the company has kept a climate ledger and has responded well to what can be improved to promote greater sustainability, including through the use of environmentally friendly energy sources and biodegradable packaging.

Five Hafnarfjörður companies nominated this year

Five companies were nominated this time. In addition to Te & Kaffi, the nominees were Betri Stofan, H-Berg, Litla hönnunarbúðin and Sorgarmiðstöð. The Marketing Institute of Hafnarfjörður's Encouragement Award was first presented in 2017, but the award is now called Company of the Year in Hafnarfjörður.

The role and purpose of the Marketing Bureau of Hafnarfjörður is to promote cooperation between the business community, the municipality, and others who wish to contribute to development within Hafnarfjörður, with the aim of improving its image and increasing demand for all types of services and business activities in the area. The marketing office's role is also to provide training, strengthen the network of businesses in the town, and foster cooperation between them.

The number of companies that are members of the marketing agency is constantly increasing, and its operations are in constant development to meet the wishes and needs of businesses in Hafnarfjörður.
