The Great Reading Competition on 13th March at 3 p.m. in Hásölum

At the festival, Year 7 pupils who have been selected for festivals in their primary schools will read extracts from fiction and poetry.

Unfortunately, the final festival of the Big Reading Competition, which was due to take place yesterday, had to be postponed because of the weather. It has now been decided to hold the competition. Friday, 13th March at 3:00 p.m. in Hásölum.

At the festival, Year 7 pupils who have been selected for festivals in their primary schools will read extracts from fiction and poetry.

Finally, the judging panel will select the three best readers and present them with prizes.

In addition, young musicians will perform and prizes will be awarded for the invitation and in the short story competition, which is held annually for pupils in Years 8 to 10.

Students from the Little Reading Competition will open the festival.

The poets of this year's Grand Reading Competition are Guðrún Helgadóttir and Anton Helgi Jónsson.
