NOTICE FROM THE METROPOLITAN AREA MANAGEMENT
It's still snowing in some parts of the capital region, but elsewhere the weather is starting to clear up nicely. However, traffic is still heavy in many places, with major delays, for example, in the eastern part of the capital region. The weather forecast has improved; a yellow warning remains in effect, but an orange warning, as had previously been announced, will not be issued. The Capital Region's Operations Command is still strongly urging people to stay at home and to continue to monitor weather forecasts and information on road conditions. It will take a considerable amount of time to clear the streets in the capital region and remove vehicles that have been left behind due to the impassable conditions. It is therefore very important that people do not obstruct the street-clearing efforts, as there is a huge task ahead, not least due to the extensive ice formation in many areas.
The forecast predicts that the warnings will expire at midnight.
Heavy traffic is expected tomorrow, but no disruption to school activities is anticipated.
