Skarðið won the Stíl design competition

The youth club Skarðið at Skarðshlíðarskóli came out on top in the Stíl design competition. Kolbrún, Þórdís, Aníta and Nicole were on the winning team. A huge congratulations on a fantastic victory and a brilliant piece of work.

The youth centres Skarðið and Hraunið received recognition

The youth club Skarðið at Skarðshlíðarskóli emerged victorious in the design competition Stíl. The competition was held on Saturday, 27th January in the sports hall Digranes. Competitors from schools in Hafnarfjörður all performed excellently. This year's theme was Steampunk.

Style It's a fun competition where imagination and talent get to shine. Kolbrún Karó, Þórdís Sif, Aníta Guðrún and Nicole Jóna made up the winning team, Group A. A huge congratulations on a fantastic victory and brilliant work.

The creativity of young people is limitless.

The Skarðið youth club at Skarðshlíðarskóli was not the only Hafnarfjörður entry to do well, as Hraunið at Víðistaðaskóli received a special award for the best hair in the competition.

Samfés, the National Association of Youth Centres and Youth Halls in Iceland, holds the competition. Over 80 teenagers came together in 31 groups. As it says on the organisation's website Each group showed that the creativity of young people is limitless.

The Samfés Youth Council chose the theme Steampunk and participants demonstrated their skills in design, hairdressing, make-up and creating a design portfolio. The competition provides young people with an opportunity to develop and enhance their creative and design skills, meet peers and share the results of many months of preparation.
