Winners of the Hafnarfjörður Singing Competition 2024
Representatives from Mosann and Hrauni won the Hafnarfjörður Youth Club Singing Competition, which was held at the Bæjarbíó on Wednesday, 20th March. The winners have qualified for the Samfés singing competition, which will be held at the Laugardalshöll on Saturday, 4th May.
Talented singers shine brightly at the Town Cinema
Hjörleifur Daði Oddsson and Birna Lára Sigurðardóttir from the youth centre Hraunið and Sara Karabin from the youth centre Mosinn shared first place in the Hafnarfjörður Singing Competition. Hjörleifur and Birna Lára performed the song When I Was Your Man with Bruno Mars and Sara Karabin sang Back to Black with Amy Winehouse. The Hafnarfjörður singing competition was held in the middle of last week at the Bæjarbíó. A very talented group of young people from Hafnarfjörður took to the stage.
11 representatives in nine items
Nine acts were performed and 11 singers took part. Ísól Eyja Brown from the youth club Núið came in 2nd place with the song Stay with Rihanna. Sonja Laura Krasko from the youth centre Mosani came in 3rd place and sang a song The Villa I Appear To Be with Connor Spiotto. The judging panel consisted of singer Sigga Ózk, Anna Lovísa Þorláksdóttir, a leisure educator and primary school teacher, and Katrín Hildur Jónasdóttir, a singer and member of the Icelandic Rock Choir.
Both acts in first place will advance to the Samfés singing competition. The hugely popular competition will be held in the Laugardalshöll on Saturday, 4th May.
- Karen Hrönn Guðjónsdóttir from the youth centre Ásinn with the song Icelandic woman in Guðrún Árný's edition.
- Hrafnhildur Björk Ragnarsdóttir from the youth centre Hraunið with the song Born to be alive with Bee and her Business.
- Sara Karabin from the youth centre Mosani with the song Back to Black with Amy Winehouse.
- Hjörleifur Daði Oddsson and Birna Lára Sigurðardóttir from the youth club Hrauni with the song When I was your man with Bruno Mars.
- Áróra Sif Rúnarsdóttir and Dögun Oddsdóttir from the youth centre Núið with the song Hallelujah in Alexandra Burke's version.
- Elísabet Benný Kristófersdóttir from the youth centre Verin with the song Deep wounds heal slowly with Bríet.
- Ísól Eyja Brown from the youth club Núið with the song Stay with Rihanna.
- Sólrún Eva Hannesdóttir from the youth centre Mosinn with the song Oh, hey with The Lumineers.
- Sonja Laura Krasko from the youth centre Mosani with the song The Villa I Appear To Be with Connor Spiotto.
