The Family and Children's Services Department of Hafnarfjörður is looking to hire staff for its support services for summer cover.

The working hours are up to 100%, and we are looking for people for both day shifts and shift work in the evenings and at weekends. These are summer cover positions. 

The Support Service is responsible for a wide range of services for the residents of Hafnarfjörður. It strives to provide a personalised service.

Key tasks:

  • Personal assistance and support with nutrition and exercise
  • Provides assistance with shopping
  • Dispenses pre-packaged medicines
  • Cleaning at users' homes
  • Help with household organisation, cleaning and more
  • Collaboration with other support service staff
  • Other tasks as per the job description and as assigned by a superior.

Educational and competency requirements:

  • Examinations from shorter courses, such as social work or nursing courses.
  • Experience of work in support services
  • Positive attitude at work, a helpful nature and good communication skills
  • Initiative, organised working methods and independence in work
  • Icelandic proficiency at a minimum of level A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
  • Driving test

A requirement is that the individual has a clean criminal record. A record of good conduct is required, e.g. having an excellent reputation and ensuring that behaviour and actions, both at and outside of work, are consistent with the role.

Remuneration is in accordance with the collective agreement between the Municipalities' Salary Commission and the Hlíf Trade Union.
