Hafnarfjörður is looking to hire dynamic staff for a rewarding role at a home for people with disabilities, located in Völlunum. The work is based on the Servant-Leadership philosophy.
Spennandi og skemmtilegt starf, með fjölbreyttum verkefnum í vaktavinnu. Viðkomandi þarf að geta unnið morgun, kvöld, nætur og helgarvaktir. Við erum að leita að starfsfólki í tímabundið starf í sumar, með möguleika á fastráðningu í haust. Við leitum eftir starfsfólki sem getur hafið störf í byrjun júní. Starfshlutfall er 80 – 100 % starf í vaktavinnu.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Providing residents with support with activities of daily living
- Have fun at work, be a role model for others and show initiative.
- Adhere to service plans and procedures
- Encourage residents to participate in the community and in leisure activities.
- General household chores
- Communication with various service providers
- Other tasks as per the job description and as assigned by a superior.
Competency requirements:
- Experience in similar roles is desirable.
- Interest in the affairs of disabled people
- Knowledge of Icelandic is a requirement.
- Service-mindedness and positivity at work
- Interpersonal skills
- Initiative and conscientiousness
- Good computer skills
- The job requires good physical fitness.
- Driving licence a condition
The condition is that the person has reached the age of 20 and has a clean criminal record.

Salary in accordance with the current collective agreement between the Federation of Icelandic Municipalities and the Hafnarfjörður Staff Association.
