The Lifshlaupið 2020 kick-off event at Skarðshlíðarskóli
There was great excitement at Skarðshlíðarskóli this morning as the Lífshlaupið was launched for the thirteenth time. Headteacher Ingibjörg Magnúsdóttir welcomed guests. Rósa Guðbjartsdóttir, the mayor, and Þráinn Hafsteinsson, chairman of the ÍSÍ's Department of Mass Sports, then addressed the guests before competing in fun challenges brilliantly organised by the school's PE teachers, Ana and Viktor. Blossi, the ÍSÍ mascot, also made an appearance to everyone's great delight. When the programme concluded, the pupils and teachers hurried outside to run their mile.
